FAQ

What is The Camden Charitable Funding Project?

If successful, the Camden Charitable Funding Project will be the first time in the nation that 100% of a billboard’s profits in perpetuity will be donated to the non-profit community in the city in which the billboard will be located. The revenue will become an annuity for Camden’s non-profit community and should generate a minimum $200,000 annually to qualified Camden non-profit charities.

Who is sponsoring this initiative?

The initiative is being spearheaded by Interstate Outdoor Advertising CEO Drew Katz and created to continue the legacy of giving to Camden established by his parents – Marjorie and Lewis Katz.

How will the funds be raised?

Interstate Outdoor Advertising will construct and operate a new digital billboard in Camden overlooking the Ben Franklin Bridge. All profits derived from the sale of advertising on the sign will be donated to Camden non-profit charities through a newly formed Camden Charitable Foundation.

What else should I know?

The sign will face the motoring public for traffic traveling East and West on the Ben Franklin Bridge. The proposed height of the sign will minimize the impact to Camden residents. The sign pole will be painted to match the color of the bridge. Interstate will also donate hundreds of thousands of advertising spots per year to the City of Camden and its non-profit community. In addition, Interstate will allow the sign to be taken over in the event of an emergency – weather alert, amber alert, shut down of Admiral Wilson Blvd, etc.

What needs to be done?

Camden Charitable Funding Project, LLC will seek approval for the billboard from Camden City, specifically the Camden Zoning Board of Adjustment.
